INTRODUCTION Background

The Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU), the premier continental forum for lawyers and lawyers’ associations, which membership has grown exponentially and now comprises of over five regional lawyers’ associations (RLAs), over 54 national lawyers’ associations (NLAs) and over 1,000 individual lawyers, is holding its annual conference, bringing together a broad range of participants from all corners of Africa and the Diaspora

Section on Business Law:

In-depth presentations and discussions will focus on business issues in regional trade such as opportunities available with the coming into force of the AfCFTA, how to tap into and thrive in oil and gas practice and corporate transactions among others.

Section on Public Interest and Development Law:

A variety of topics will be analyzed, including the implementation trends of human rights jurisprudence and the role that different actors can play in strengthening the African Human Rights System (AHRS).

Section on Legal Practice:

This section will analyze the growing challenges and opportunities in the legal field for African lawyers and foreign lawyers practicing in Africa.
